The Nitty Gritty

We are seeking a VP, Sales - Tank Monitoring to lead a team focused on executing a sales strategy across existing and new vertical markets that will enable the business to achieve its market share, financial goals and aggressive market expansion strategy.

What you will be doing:

• Define and own the execution of the annual and ongoing sales plan, setting sales targets, strategy, and organizational effectiveness.

• Implement the appropriate team organization, quota, commission, and account assignment plans for the sales team.

• Train and Develop each member of the sales team by providing guidance, brainstorming, and sales process support including attendance at customer locations for closing of sales opportunities.

• Define and coordinate sales training programs that enable staff to achieve their potential and support company sales objectives.

• Monitor and drive the cost of sales per unit down by managing expenses and costs associated with the sales team, increasing the productivity per rep, and maintaining reasonable, healthy margins on sales opportunities that are secured.

• Work closely with the DVP, Sales to set pricing strategies for Products/Services and ensure that sales opportunities protect and deliver the required margins to maintain ongoing profitability for the business.

• Provide pricing per opportunity and own the responsibility to review sales proposals prior to submission to prospective clients.

• Build strong C-level relationships with SkyBitz customers in order to understand their long term business and market requirements.

• Partner with Marketing on the planning and execution of activities for lead generation campaigns and the appropriate number and types of trade shows and industry event attendances to support increasing sales productivity.

• Leverage current market trends and competitor's strategies to build customer confidence in company ability to be the partner-of-choice.

• Track monthly/quarterly sales volume to goal and work with management team to develop strategies to meet or beat sales forecasts and adjust sales forecast as needed.

• Keep informed of regulatory, legal, socio-economic and political conditions that may impact our customers and company operations

• Provide management reporting as required

• Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience

• Broad business experience with 10+ years of business to business sales experience managing both direct sales and distributor/dealer networks

• Proven track record of success in exceeding sales commitments and growing revenue

• Experience leading a team through a period of fast growth and changing environment

• Must be hands on and strategic with as successful history of leading, developing, hiring, motivating and mentoring high-performance solution sales teams

• Ability to understand complex solutions and successfully articulate value proposition to target customers

• Demonstrated ability to work closely with various departments such as Customer Success, Marketing, Product Management, Operations and Engineering

• Excellent planning, organizational, and analytical skills.

• Strong attention to the details of the business and customer requirements

• Strong communications skills with proven ability to negotiate and influence as well as deliver presentations to both internal and external stakeholders

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

• Must possess a growth mindset and focus on continuous improvement

• Proficient with MS Office Suite including: Word, Excel, Power Point

• Proficient using Salesforce.com

Preferred requirements

• Strong P&L management skills and experience

• Strong SaaS/SW recurring revenue sales and management experience

• Logistics software experience is preferred, and is strongly preferred if related to Petroleum and/or Chemical Distribution

• Experience with successfully integrating newly acquired companies into the organization

• Ability to think "out of the box" with opportunities to grow the business, and identify potential acquisitions or partnerships in related industries
