Media Analytics and Insights Lead

Our team is looking for a data-driven leader to take the reigns as Media Analytics and Insights Lead.  We’re looking for a seasoned professional with proven expertise in media data and analytics discipline, with a desire to shape the strategic direction of HPE’s digital marketing strategy through data-driven insights, and a comfort level in driving innovations and defining the future of HPE’s in-house media agency.

Position Overview


  • This position will be a core team member of the in-house media agency with both internal and external responsibilities.

  • You report to Head of Global Media and Performance Marketing, and will both lead and serve as the main point of contact for all media analytics and insights focused initiatives from across the organization.  You will have support from 1-2 analysts on the team as well as external vendors.

  • You will be hands-on, providing analytical support to the team – providing report creation for stakeholders (along with analyst support) and developing actionable insights through quantitative analysis, innovative thinking, and your industry knowledge to contribute to both tactical and strategic efforts.

  • You will effectively manage day-to-day communications and processes with other members of the Global media team, external vendors, as well as internal stakeholders at various levels of the organization. 

  • You will partner closely with Media Reporting and Operations Lead to ensure media data operations supports day-to-day reporting and analytical needs for all media programs.  You are also expected to partner together to drive the evolution of HPE’s media data operations practice adapted for the changing business needs.

Responsibilities


  • Served as SME on key functional areas such as analytical tools and marketing measurement

  • Measurement: Plan and develop measurement strategy, frameworks and technology

  • Reporting & Optimization: Lead the development of custom media dashboards tailored for media team use and direct optimization initiatives

  • Insights: Perform custom analysis and develop insights-driven strategies grounded in data aggregated from primary media platforms as well as additional 1st party and 3rd party data sources

  • Stakeholder Management: Present findings/insights as well as methodology/data approaches reliably to internal stakeholders (at various levels) through a variety of different presentation opportunities

  • Innovation: Advise and define new processes, workflows, and use cases for how media data & insights can be leveraged as part of the broader HPE Digital Marketing engine. 

Basic Qualifications


  • Bachelor degree plus 4-6 years of experience in analytics or strategy with an advertising agency, management consulting company, or ad tech company

  • Experience training and managing a team of analysts

  • Highly skilled in all Microsoft Office products, especially Excel and PowerPoint

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (both written and verbal) with an ability to support strong ongoing stakeholder management

  • Excellent data driven storytelling skills – you create and deliver compelling presentations with outstanding visuals

  • Comfortable presenting complex analysis in a simple, easy to digest way to C-suite level stakeholders

  • Experience in Brand Lift studies, such as Lucid or Kantar Millward Brown

  • Fluency with visualization tools (Tableau, Data Studio, QlikView, Power BI, etc.) – ability to create interactive, user-friendly and compelling dashboards and reports

  • Ability to facilitate two-way translations between business requirements to/from technical criteria

  • Complete understanding of the full campaign lifecycle – development, execution (including trafficking & tagging), reporting, optimization

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail

  • Ability to manage across multiple projects concurrently with strong time management skills

  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a matrixed enterprise environment and flexibility to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment

  • Willingness to work cross time zones

Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience with ad-serving, ad-buying, ad-verification, web analytics, and DMP/CDP platforms including, GCM (or DCM), DV360, TTD, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Twitter Ads Manager, Facebook Ads Manager, Adobe Ad Cloud, IAS/DV, Adobe Analytics, Adobe Audience Manager

  • Technically skilled and able to manipulate large raw datasets using advanced spreadsheet formulas and/or SQL

  • Familiarity with Google Ads Data Hub and Campaign Manager DT files

  • Experience working with a global brand and/or B2B brand
