Job Description:

Best Buy Digital & Technology organization is seeking a Technical Lead - MS Dynamics 365 (functional/technical) to join our Microsoft Dynamics Platform team and be responsible for leading and facilitating the design and architecture sessions and advising on best practices for CRM processes, user interface, and architecture.

This role will also write specifications for customizations, data migration, and system integrations and lead team resources in the implementation of data migration and translation, data integration, training and custom development, and reports.

We are looking for a Technical Lead - MS Dynamics 365 who is a functional and technical expert in application, delivery, and execution. The ideal candidate will not only be an excellent engineer, but also be exceptional in the application development and project management of the role.


  • Provide technical leadership across two or more large products or systems

  • Thought leader regarding high code quality, inspiring others and shaping the code quality culture across teams

  • Seek out ways to improve the SDLC of the teams you work with

  • Identify and solve highly complex and systematic issues across systems

  • Lead technical design sessions with other teams

  • Develop strong business relationships.

  • Independently work on organizational objectives

Key Responsibilities:
Functional Engineering Leadership

  • Leads of all phases of a large capability or set of products

  • Assist with architecting CRM or xRM system, related customizations, and reports to model organizational processes; create functional/technical specification and documentation

  • Write specifications for customizations, data migration, and system integrations

  • Facilitate team resources in the implementation of data migration and translation, data integration, training and custom development, and reports

  • Be current on evolving standards, platform features, and critical vendor and community provided technologies

  • Understand and influence the broad architecture of multiple systems

  • Solve highly complex issues often applying new approaches

  • Fully understands consequences and risks of changes to the systems

Client Interactions

  • Lead and facilitate the design and architecture sessions and advise on best practices for CRM processes, user interface, and architecture

  • Conduct design review sessions to demonstrate completed work and gather adjustments and changes

Project/Development Team

  • Delivers projects on-time, provide, and deliver on accurate estimates

  • Identify opportunities in the SDLC to create process efficiencies and recommend tools and standards to be used across teams

  • Supervise the tasks and deliverables of the project team to meet project milestones

  • Map requirements to best practice out of the box CRM functionality as well as identify specific needs for customizations

  • Ensure the quality of one or more teams' output

  • Tackles complex debugging, triaging, incident response, and reverse-engineering tasks

  • Owns the technical testing and performance of the products they support

Advise and Mentor

  • Mentor team members in technical skills to develop their abilities for future projects.

  • Be an advisor and resource to leadership and development team on projects, new functionality, communication, and client inquiries

  • Understands and communicates effectively about tradeoffs between technical, analytical, and product needs

  • Sets direction at project or product level, consistently influence decision making

  • Provides feedback on products outside of their core area

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5 or more years’ experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 (CRM)

  • 5 or more years’ experience with full cycle CRM IT implementation

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and/or experience

  • 1 or more years’ experience leading a team and working on large and complex CRM implementations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7 or more years’ experience including experience with Dynamics CRM Online

  • 5 or more years’ experience in programming languages such as C#, VB.net, ASP.NET, HTML, JavaScript

  • 3 or more years’ experience working with Microsoft CRM SDK and/or Developers Toolkit

  • 2 or more years’ experience in Windows 8, iOS and other mobile applications development

  • Experience working with PowerApps and Azure related technologies

  • Experience working with Unified Service Desk, Field Service module, Project Operations

  • Experience leading a team and ability to juggle multiple priorities

  • Experience working in an Agile or Scrum environment
