A DAY IN THE LIFE
Enthalpy Analytical, a subsidiary of Montrose Environmental Group, is currently seeking a full-time QA Directorto join our South Richmond team. The QA Director is responsible for managing the entire Quality Management System (QMS), standards compliance, and laboratory accreditations. As a leader of the QA team the Director is responsible for designing and implementing improvements in human, technical, safety and quality systems to improve data quality, operational effectiveness and efficiency. The QA Director functions independently and has responsibility for quality assurance and safety oversight independent of production and financial responsibility.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Leading the laboratory's QA/QC and data quality improvement activities
Managing, maintaining, and expanding the lab's accreditations and licenses
Manage QA personnel
Implementing and revising the QA program/QA Manual
Ensuring SOP's are written, organized and compliant to standards
Completing, evaluating, reporting PE/PT results and corrective actions
Organizing records and documenting personnel training, (IDOC's)
Providing QA/QC program training for lab staff
Documenting validation of new test & measurement services
Proactively ensuring compliance to ethics program
Performing and documenting Internal audits and data assessments
Organizing, maintaining & completing standard reporting requirements (NELAP, etc.)
Detecting, documenting, monitoring, resolving, and closing non-conformance and corrective action reports
Other duties as assigned by the QA Manager
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Biology or related sciences
Minimum 5 years prior experience in an environmental testing laboratory; experience the with Department of Defense Quality Systems Manual (DoD QSM) requirements preferred
Must meet the minimum requirements of the accrediting body(ies) of the laboratory
PREFERRED SKILLS
Demonstrated knowledge of environmental testing regulations and requirements, TNI/NELAP/ISO-17025
Working knowledge of laboratory procedures, data interpretation and evaluation of data usability
Ability to collaborate with lab team members to gather, interpret and consolidate data, review data and information for presentation and review
Effective written and oral communication
Detail oriented
Effective time management
Good knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, table and graph generation and use of applicable computer software
Demonstrated editorial and proofreading skills
Good problem solving and troubleshooting abilities
Effective leadership and personnel management
