The Smyrna, TN Plant has an exciting opportunity for an Upstream Planning Leader to join the Supply Chain Planning team. As the Upstream Planning Leader you'll have the opportunity to organize the upstream flows with the suppliers forecast and manage logistic terms and conditions. Ensure the update, quality and consistency of key parameters of supply and stock management (ex. Replenishment Lead Time, Quantity, Frequency, Stock Policy, etc.)

What do you get to do in this position?


  • Organize and optimize the procurement of components with our suppliers by following the SPS principles from last add value of the supplier to point of use in the plant (physical and information flows, in close association with LWS4)

  • Including logistics solutions, lot size, lead time, packaging, ABC/FMR analysis, components stock policy, consignment stock...

  • In responsible for the supplier forecast and their accuracy

  • Monitor and improve the upstream supply chain performance

  • Develop local suppliers base: improvement tools, competencies (Material management, SPS)

  • Has a continuous improvement approach for S-OTD, U-OTD/ NLL, MOQA/LTA and DIN/NIN RM based on SPS/SIM Principles

  • Pilot the containment, corrective and preventative actions to solve upstream SC issues of the plant using the 8D methodology

  • Escalate to SSCMEs for critical SC issues with suppliers

  • Responsible for the implementation of rules and principles of management of suppliers

  • PPEP, Transfer/Disengagement process, SAM audit, Contract/Logistics terms and conditions

  • Use Lean tools for Supply Chain performance: VSM, E-VSM

  • Contribute to the Supply Chain transformation

  • Responsible for training new members

  • Responsible for the healthy and unhealthy inventory for the component portion

  • Maintain metrics and keep track of the performance for the upstream members

  • Perform SIM meetings with the upstream members on a weekly basis

This job might be for you if:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations or related degree.

  • 3 years' experience in Purchasing/Supply Chain is preferred.

  • SAP experience

  • Strong drive and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong relationship leadership skills

  • Strong negotiation skills are a plus.

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

  • Experience performing cost analysis

  • Must be able to effectively and professional communicate with various departments, suppliers, and levels of personnel
