Job Summary

This Senior Advisor will support the Deal Desk by managing the tactical content of the organizations most complex and strategic renewal and sales opportunities with involvement from prospecting to bid completion. The deal desk is a high performing team that works directly with key cross-functional leaders to ensure organizational readiness, approval and positioning to non-standard and complex offerings within our highest valued opportunities. Senior Advisors on the deal desk will work closely with the client enablement and sales and account management teams to develop bid strategy at the prospecting stage and ensure organizational follow-through within the bid process and documentation.

The Business Strategy Senior Advisor will guarantee timely completion of SME content creation and submission and be responsible for maintaining a database of approved strategic content to leverage in future bid opportunities.

To be successful, candidates must be excellent written and oral communicators, not afraid to challenge the status quo, passionate for both story-telling and analyzing data and true creative thinkers. It will be critical for this individual to maintain a deep knowledge and understanding of the Health Services industry (and markets we serve), and develop and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with leaders and team members that serve these market areas.

This position is with Evernorth, a new business within the Cigna Corporation.

Essential Functions


  • Oversee and execute tactical content of Deal Desk RFPs

  • Be closely aligned with the client enablement prospecting, proposals and insights teams

  • Work closely with Sales, Account Management, and Senior Leaders throughout the organization to ensure strategic alignment

  • Create custom content specific to the needs of the prospect

  • Use a tracking mechanism to track deviations throughout the RFP process

  • Maintain a database of responses to leverage in future bids

  • Lead enterprise-wide initiatives to improve Express Scripts positioning in the marketplace

  • Drive relationships with key strategic business partners (sales, account management, sales enablement, marketing, competitive intelligence) to develop/maintain a deep understanding of customer/market needs

  • Strong project management skills (including resource management, relationship management, delegation) to ensure timely creation and delivery of bid and related projects

Qualifications


  • BA/BS degree (or equivalent experience) and 10-12 years relevant experience or MA/MS and 5 - 7 years relevant experience

  • Knowledge of PBM or healthcare industry

  • Embodies not only analytical skills but business acumen and technical skills required to enable and provoke transformational action

  • Role will require Challenger training (provided once offer accepted)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills

  • Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to work cross-functionally and present results to multiple internal stakeholders

  • Working understanding and comprehension of market and data analysis

  • Analytical, attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities

  • Intrinsically motivated and self-starting initiative is required

  • Ability to present information in an understandable and compelling manner both orally and written


  • Eagerness to work productively and independently in a dynamic, fast paced and constantly changing environment

  • Knowledge of SalesForce and RFPIO a plus

This position is not eligible to be performed in Colorado.
