A week in the life of a Lead Facilities Engineer:
Run a Government-owned/Contractor-operated facility in Northern Virginia for customers to test a suite of Electronic Healthcare Record applications.
Conduct activities related to the maintenance, repair and modification of equipment, controls/communications, electrical/electronic systems, HVAC, or mechanical devices and equipment built to support the testing of Electronic Healthcare Record applications.
Manage the reservation and use of capabilities in the facility, including but not limited to test lab space, storage space, IT rack and networking capacity, and office space.
Coordinate with clients to ensure that reservations are consistent with the test schedule published by the Government customer.
Ensure all personnel in the space act in a professional manner at all times.
Control inventory of all parts (in use or spare) to provide maximum uptime on all equipment.
Manage the conduct of the Asset Manager to ensure that inventories are complete and accurate, consistent with DPAS requirements, and reported to Property Book managers in a timely manner.
Assist in the development of maintenance programs and perform routine preventive maintenance according to plan.
Act as the site Safety Manager in an ancillary role.
Ensure that the Site Safety Plan is adhered to.
Maintain ability to provide general technical support for both hardware and software associated with medical devices used in the facility.
Manage the activities of the onsite facility support staff.
Coordinate with facility landlord and all O&M vendors to ensure that the facility, IT support services, and all network connectivity remains operational and available to support test conduct efforts.

Requirements
U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret clearance
Onsite presence M-F at facility in Chantilly, VA
Minimum 8-10 years of experience in IT-oriented facility management skillsets.
Ensure that the facility remains supportive of the DoD Electronic Healthcare Record applications.
Knowledge of Defense Health Agency medical devices and a basic understanding of their IT structure and how to program them a plus
Required Skills
Ability to prioritize and manage tasks in order to accomplish goals on a given timeline.
Ability to effectively lead and manage a small staff.
Ability to interpret, communicate, and apply operational and security procedures; ability to propose improvements to same.
Excellent communications skills, including interacting with DoD customers, facility users, and facility support contractors.
