We keep current operations running smoothly and provide reliable and efficient computing centers and network infrastructure for scientific programs and the laboratory as a whole. We modernize Fermilab's information systems and work to improve business processes.

Fermilab's Computing Division seeks an experienced IT Business Manager to fill our Functional Analyst II position. Under limited supervision you will be involved in all aspects of IT support, software licensing and hardware and software support agreements. Manage supplier relationships with demonstrated experience in contract negotiations, performance management and dispute resolution. Coordinates specific projects or programs and leads multi-functional teams to address business needs or contract issues. May lead and supervise others in a group.

You Will:

• Be accountable for Supplier Management but will have the unique opportunity to learn and contribute in Service Strategy, Design, Transition and Operations processes.


• Facilitate the resolution of license compliance issues.


• Plans, leads, and coordinates projects and communicates project information.


• Documents business rationale to support decision-making.


• Identifies and documents existing and proposed business processes and process flows.


• Demonstrates expertise in end-user reporting tools, systems process and data models.


• Proposes and designs solutions to address short-term and long-term business needs.


• Provides consultation to computing team members.


• Stays on top of current IT business practices, emerging industry trends and related technology.


• Abides by and is responsible for performing all duties as assigned and in accordance with all environmental, health and safety regulations and practices pertinent to this position.

We Are Looking For:

• Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field with 5+ years of relevant experience.


• Demonstrated knowledge in ITIL processes.


• Experience in solution implementations.


• Experience in contract, software and risk management.


• Superb communication and customer service skills.


• Ability to work with a diverse group of professionals including engineers, architects, scientists, etc.


• Ability to build reports based on operational need and use KPIs/Metrics to track performance.


• Ability to document and maintain ITSM documentation (processes, procedures, workflows, communication/training material, etc.).


• Proficient in MS Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
