Short Description
Code all diagnoses and procedures documented in the medical record for the current encounter utilizing: ICD-10-CM, CPT or HCPCIS codes |
Adhere to compliance regulations set by government, state, & the Cooper University Healthcare to ensure guidelines are met. |
Code and Abstract each encounter into Cooper's Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Financial system: ensure dates of services are correct, discharge disposition, and admission source/type |
Ensure productivity and quality standards are met based on type of encounter |
Ensure the proper calculation APCs for outpatient encounters |
Enter necessary charges for services rendered into financial system |
Scheduled Days / Hours: M-F 5 hrs per day;
HS graduate required, Bachelor's Degree preferred
0-2 years' experience preferred
RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA, CPC, CIC , COC, CPC-P, or any specialty credential accredited by AHIMA or AAPC or accredited by AHIMA or AAPC within 6 months of hire.
New graduate, candidate close to graduation, candidate eligible for certification. Those employed prior to 01/01/2021 were required to have an RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or other appropriate certification. Those hired after are required to have an RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA, CPC, CIC , COC, CPC-P, or any specialty credential accredited by AHIMA or AAPC. |
