General Statement of Duties
Performs responsible paralegal work under the general supervision of a Real Estate Commission Attorney.

Distinguishing Features of the Class
An employee in this class serves as a division paralegal and is responsible for a variety of assignments which may include but not be limited to drafting, reviewing, and approving for form and legality various legal instruments; providing litigation support; handling complaints and inquiries of a legal nature from the general public; administratively maintaining a law office; and performing administrative database entry and report production. Work includes legal research, as well as research into government, title, and court records; and generally requires that the employee independently handle certain complex administrative tasks such as handling more detailed or difficult projects or cases; compiling data for a variety of required and complex reports; producing reports; and tracking deadlines. Employees may present findings with preliminary legal analysis subject to attorney review. Work is considered advanced and requires tact and discretion in handling more technical or confidential matters in the program areas. Work requires sound judgment and initiative, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Work is performed under the supervision of the Director and Assistant Director of Regulatory Affairs and is evaluated through observation, conferences, and the quality and effectiveness of work completed.

Graduation from a certified school for paralegal training and one year of experience as a paralegal. 

Salary $43,961 - $52,753, depending on experience, plus benefits.

Must reside in Raleigh area.
