Job Description

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory, Spent Fuel Systems group is looking for a mechanical engineer to join our team! Working with support from one of our senior engineers, you will develop the procedures, designs, and technical assessments that are needed to help start-up operations at a new spent fuel processing facility. We are looking for someone with a can-do attitude, a team-oriented mindset, a strong technical acumen, and a pragmatic approach to solving complex problems. Required Skills

Intermediate:

• BS degree in engineering or Bachelor's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two years of relevant experience; or


• MS degree in engineering or Master's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of one year of relevant experience.

Advanced:

• BS degree in engineering or Bachelor's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of four years of relevant experience; or


• MS degree in engineering or Master's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Skills

- Strong academic performance in engineering coursework (GPA > 3.5).

- Prior experience designing (or working with) mechanical systems or equipment.

- Demonstrated ability tocommunicate effectively (in presentations or in technical writing).

- Motivatedto want to be excellent.
