Job Description:

LPL Financial is currently seeking a Vice President, Advisor Security within its Information Security organization. As part of the Advisor Information Security team, this role is responsible for leading many of the firm's advisor security initiatives, including advisor security consulting and advisor security operations. This individual will provide strategic insight towards development of the function, as well as drive tactical execution of daily operations. This advisor information security team maintains strong relationships with LPL's relationship managers, advisors and their clients to collaboratively deliver a seamlessly secure and resilient environment while integrating with existing advisor business processes.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of technology and business processes in advisor offices and how best to secure advisor and client data. This individual must be able to identify opportunities in the organization, align functions to the company mission and values, improve existing processes and develop the next generation of leaders at LPL. The ideal candidate must be able to lead teams in a fast-paced and technically challenging operational environment. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with partners who interface with regulators, law enforcement officials, and other LPL departments. The candidate will also work with the team to track and provide investigation's metrics related to the group.

Essential Functions:


  • Development and maturation of the advisor security operations and advisor security consulting functions within Information Security.


  • Provide information security and risk management consulting, recommendations and guidance to partner institutions, enterprises, independent advisors and their clients.


  • Liaise with partners across various business divisions and enterprise functions including Technology Risk, Compliance Legal & Risk and Privacy.


  • Oversee critical cybersecurity and business experiments providing tools and services to better secure advisor and client data.


  • Collaborate with LPL advisors to provide guidance to relevant cybersecurity regulations.


  • Provides timely and relevant roadmaps and operational updates to senior leadership.


  • Provide cybersecurity awareness and training to LPL advisors and their investors.


  • Demonstrate strong managerial skills as well as coaching for career development.


  • Uses situational leadership to manage employees through growth and development needs to build desired careers.


  • Reviews and prioritizes security alerts, investigations and escalated matters; ensure all investigations are appropriately scoped and completed thoroughly.


  • Provide training to other LPL departments as needed.


Qualifications:


  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills.


  • Ability to manage resources and contribute to organizational deliverables.


  • Demonstrated ability to drive organizational change and work with multiple business stakeholders to effect change and improve processes.


  • A strong understanding of incident response procedures and practices.


  • Good collaboration and interpersonal skills, self-motivated, willingness to take on challenges and adaptability to change.


  • Knowledge of NYDFS Cybersecurity Regulations.


  • Ability to travel as needed.


  • Experience working in the financial services or regulated industry.


Education & Experience


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field


  • Minimum 7 years of experience in information security, technology, or risk
