Virtual Sales Manager – Americas Virtual Selling Team

Job Description

NXP’s Virtual sales team is on a mission to transform the experience for our customers and distribution partners by bringing NXP direct sales and applications skillset closer to the mass market customer base in a virtual world.  This role will be focused on increasing sales opportunity pipeline and design wins across NXP’s entire portfolio within the mass market customer base. 

The Virtual Selling role and team will have the following critical responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of 8-10 sales and applications engineers focused on building new demand in a virtual environment.  The role will report directly to the Americas Mass Market leader.

    • Closely collaborate with the Mass Market leader to build this virtual selling team; establish priorities, operating framework and key metrics, execute to the plan; and also build and develop new sales and applications talent for the broader Americas Sales organization.

    • Focus on pre-sales (project identification and design-In) in a virtual selling environment across the Automotive, Industrial, IoT, and Communications Infrastructure vertical markets.

    • Provide critical skillset development and coaching for next wave of NXP sales and applications talent.

    • Translate inbound leads into new opportunities for NXP and franchised distributors across the region.

    • Provide franchised distributors a direct resource to engage customers directly in our mutual effort to promote NXP technologies for their application.

    • Coordinate/lead critical mass market promotional activities for Americas mass market and distributors.


Job Qualifications:


  • Minimum of 5+ years of sales or applications engineering experience in the semiconductor industry

  • Experience in either managing a large account or leading technical sales engineering or applications engineering resources.

  • Demonstrates strong sales discipline over career

  • Experience coaching/mentoring early career sales and applications professionals.

  • Aspires to build a new team and manage through ambiguity.

  • Qualifications:  BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.  MBA also desired.

Job Location:

  • San Jose or Austin is preferred, but not required.
