Job Description:

HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER

 

Job Summary:

Responsible to lead the Human Resource Department to provide the superior customer service to the employees & management of Gulfeagle Supply and related companies.   Perform and direct duties as necessary to ensure compliance of the federal, state and local laws as it relates to human resources. Ensure the smooth operation of payroll, benefits, risk management and related functions. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Strategic Business Partner


  • Contribute to the business objectives by helping identify, prioritize, and build organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures and processes. Act as a liaison between the operations and HR to ensure HR services are aligned with the needs of the business and identify new opportunities where HR can add value to the business.

 

HR Team Management


  • Hiring, training, scheduling and performance monitoring of the Human Management Resource team, Front Desk Coordinator and Mailroom Clerk.

 

 HR Management Liaison


  • BSC and Branch Management liaison in respect to training and on-going knowledge of HR policies, procedures and federal, state and local laws.

 

 Onboarding & Payroll


  • Responsible for overseeing the onboarding process including the application tracking system, background searches and drug testing. Ensuring timely and accurate payroll including time and attendance, reporting, commissions, bonuses, changes and upgrades as well as all payroll related functions.

 Commissions


  • Track, monitor and calculate commissions and bonuses which are paid monthly, quarterly and annually

   Performance &Termination Management


  • On-going coaching of branch management in respect to performance, progressive discipline and termination on all employees.  Act as a back-up to generate Employee Counseling Notices and Exit Interviews for branch prior to delivery to employee. Oversee unemployment process and appeals.

Benefits


  • Responsible for overseeing daily benefit functions, open enrollments, on-line website and submission of 5500 including but not limited to medical and supplemental insurance as well as 401(k)

Risk Management


  • Responsible for overseeing daily risk management functions as it relates to on the job injuries, property, automobile and general liability claims. Ensure handling of claims reduces claim exposure. Review legal claims and claims with reserves over $20,000 monthly with HR Generalist, broker and VP of Human Resources.

Renewals


  • Responsible for identifying brokers, gathering information, submission of information and producing competitive quotes including but not limited to medical, supplemental, 401k, workers’ compensation, property, automobile and general liability coverage.

Vendor Relations


  • Work with vendors for the benefit the department including a third-party payroll company, health care and risk management carriers, brokers and others as needed.

Year End Reporting


  • Oversee the year-end process to ensure smooth closing and preparation of tools to respond to audits, accounting requests, BMEs, EEOC request, additional 401(k) match and others

Website


  • Responsible for ensuring accurate and up to date policies and procedures on the Gulfeagle Supply website and other HR related portals for employee and HR Department Access. 

Problem Resolution


  • Respond to employees with general inquiries and problem resolution related to Human Resources including phone calls and electronic communications.

Process Improvements


  • On-going review of current policies and procedures to ensure efficiency in operations and customer service.  Recommend enhancements to improve the current process for the betterment of the employees and Gulfeagle.


Projects


  • Manage specific projects as needed and participate in functional and cross-functional initiatives. 

 

ACCOUNTABILITY:

Reports to Vice President of Human Resources. 

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Strong payroll and accounting background are imperative.  Well organized person with strong administrative and good interpersonal skills.  Ability to multi-task and supervise employees and workload.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management or related discipline

  • 5-7 years of experience in exempt level Human Resources

  • Completion of Ceridian training prior or on the job.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:


  • Superior elements of English language usage, spelling, and arithmetic.

  • Ability to manage employees and workload.

  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office products. Excel experience a must.

  • Knowledge of office methods, practices, and procedures, and ability to make mathematical calculations.

  • Ability to understand, carry out, and execute oral and written directions.

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in making decisions.

  • Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships as part of a team effort with those contacted in the performance of duties, to include all other employees and customers.
