Job Description:

Position Summary

As a member of the Workers' Compensation team, The Supervisor Workers' Compensation is responsible for offering outstanding support to JetBlue Crewmembers, internal stakeholders, and business partners throughout the life of a workers' compensation claim. The Supervisor will leverage their jurisdictional and claims expertise to provide onsite Workers' Compensation carrier oversight and administration, training, programming, as well as input and support in identifying opportunities, developing, and executing new program initiatives and process changes.

The Supervisor is responsible for managing the day to day claims handling of the third party administrator (TPA), all financial aspects of the claims, and ensuring the TPA is delivering superior service while adhering to JetBlue's culture and values. The Supervisor will be responsible for providing clear, accurate and timely information on claim types, trends, ratios and other actionable information on insurance losses.

Essential Responsibilities

* Oversee the handling of all aspects of the Workers' Compensation process and claims assigned to the Insurance Carrier/TPA including but not limited to claim reporting, medical management, reserving, communication, documentation, litigation, negotiations, settlement, third party, etc.

* Build strong relationships with injured Crewmembers, internal stakeholders, and business partners to promote the delivery of excellent services

* Ensure all claims conform to jurisdictional requirements, quality, production standards

* Ensure claim processing is consistent with applicable policies, procedures, department guidelines, as well as JetBlue's Culture and Values

* Independently evaluate reserves, settlements, and all other financials aspects of the Workers' Compensation claims within specified authority level and make adjustments accordingly

* Conduct regular quality audits of work, record, counsel implement changes

* Prepare monitor system reports to ensure adherence to corporate and regulatory standards

* Facilitate enhancement of risk management reports and dashboards conveying vital statistics on loss data trends to senior leadership.

* Develop/enhance automation of risk management tools, leveraging knowledge of advanced visual reporting tools, and create interfaces with other tools and data sources, as needed

* Perform complex analytics projects across a broad set of stakeholders, aligning business and data needs, managing expectations, and delivering results in a timely manner

* Continually drive improvement efforts of Workers' Compensation tools and techniques

* Establish and execute controls to ensure quality work and service

* Review and analyze processes and procedures to identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency

* Develop and conduct regular in-person Workers' Compensation seminars, program training, and spearhead change initiatives

* Uphold JetBlue's safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to the role

* Support senior leadership on ad hoc projects, as needed

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree

* Four (4) years of Workers' Compensation claims adjusting experience at an Insurance carrier and/or TPA

* Two (2) years of Workers' Compensation claims supervisory/ adjuster team management experience

* Ability to plan, multitask, organize, delegate, and develop relationships at various levels within the organization

* Must have a valid Insurance designation i.e. AIC, CPCU, etc. within six (6) months of hire

* Expert jurisdictional knowledge in at least one of the following states; MA, NY, FL.

* Expert understanding of Workers' Compensation laws, medical procedures, financials, principles of coverage, liability, and the insurance industry

* Must be able to handle several complex projects, initiatives, and tasks simultaneously while operating in a fast paced high intensity environment

* Excellent proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint

* Ability to quickly acquire skills in other insurance software and/or database products

* Superior written/verbal communication and presentation skills

* Ability to work in a team environment

* Available for occasional overnight travel (approximately 10%)

* Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test

* Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration

* Valid Insurance designation i.e. AIC, CPCU, etc.

* Seven (7) years of Workers' Compensation claims experience at an Insurance carrier and/or TPA

* Multi-jurisdictional expertise

Crewmember Expectations:

* Regular attendance and punctuality

* Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice

* Well-groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance

* When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

* Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion, and Fun

* Promote JetBlue's #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue's Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy, Security Policy, and behavioral standards

* Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue's confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))
