Director, Marketing Communications

Overview

The Director, Marketing Communications develops the Marketing Communications Calendar based on the Annual Marketing Plan. Further, the Director, Marketing Communications brings the marketing plan to life by leading all marketing communications initiatives to support products, clinical studies and / or corporate campaigns, including trade shows and digitally-based media. The position supports both global and regional marketing teams in the development of all marketing related communications, leads corporate branding initiatives and ensures that all marketing materials produced support the corporate brand.

Responsibilities

Develop the annual marketing executional calendar, based on the annual marketing plan;
• Using content created by the product marketing team develop and manage communication campaigns, advertising, or other promotional materials from planning to delivery and measurement of effectiveness;


• Expertly develop digital and social media campaigns to support marketing efforts based on the strategy-lead and coordinate digital marketing staff and third party vendors;


• Drive all digital marketing activities from planning to delivery and measurement of effectiveness, including email campaigns, online advertising, webinars, surveys, web content, etc.;


• Act as an expert integrator and project manager pulling together disparate resources which result in world class execution across all media-PR, Digital, Trade Show, Print, Field Communications;


• Lead cross-functional teams in developing corporate communications plans, messaging and deliverables;


• Manage staff and coordinate vendor activities for maximum effectiveness. Serve as liaison between corporate and vendor;


• Oversee printing/distribution and inventory management of specific product line communications;


• Maintain the Corporate website and the entire digital footprint;


• Ensure corporate style guidelines and quality systems procedures are followed in all marketing communications;


• Manage project budgets related to Marcom activities;


• Manage vendor activity and negotiate both turnaround time and budget aspects to ensure project goals are achieved;


• Establish project goals, milestones and metrics and provide reports to key stakeholders


• Train sales and marketing teams on communication initiatives;


• Research and implement new communication outlets and vehicles to ensure company retains a strong competitive communication edge.


• Follows Corporate and Regulatory guidelines regarding the approval of Marketing Materials (MM's) using the MasterControl system;


• Leads marketing materials review and approval process. Owns revision control to ensure marketing materials are up to date.


• In accordance with Endologix's policies and applicable laws and regulations: Select, reward, discipline, train and develop employees.

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Communications, English or Journalism desired

Experience:

• A minimum of 8+ years of marketing communications experience, preferably in Medical Device companies. AAA (Abdominal Aortic Aneurism Repair) and EVAS/EVAR experience highly valued but not required. (Masters may substitute for one year of experience, PhD or MD may substitute for two years of experience).
