Job Description Summary

The Server Assistant sets the tone for Sonesta’s mission of “Wowing” our guests with Amazing Moments. The role’s primary responsibility is to serve food and beverages items to guests in a friendly, courteous and timely manner, and in accordance with quality standards. The Server Assistant must communicate with the kitchen and assist Servers with the delivery of the food. The Server Assistant must maintain, clean and sanitize the dining areas according to established standards.

The ideal candidate has a passion for hospitality and providing exceptional guest service.

  • Establish service standards throughout guest experience.  Ascertain guest satisfaction.
  
  
  • Assist service staff as directed by manager.
  
  
  • Supply assigned station with all items needed for daily operation.
  
  
  • Serve water, coffee, juice, and other beverages and refills.
  
  
  • Clear extra place settings at the table.
  
  
  • Maintain customer relations at the table.
  
  
  • Complete all closing side work properly.
  
  
  • Perform any duties as requested by manager.
  
  
  • Handle stress and multiple tasks (to organize service steps).
  
  
  • Maintains good interpersonal relations with guests and co-workers.

• 1-2 years of restaurant experience


• Track record of delivering exceptional guest or client experience


• Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time for training and safety purposes, and when interacting with guests and associates.
