Purpose: The Best Practices Registry (BPR) Coordinator for the national Suicide Prevention Resource Center will be responsible for establishing, updating, and maintaining an online directory of best practices in suicide prevention. The BPR Coordinator will lead a team of subject matter experts to identify, review, and disseminate information about programs, policies, and practices that address identified suicide prevention outcomes and specific objectives of the National Strategy for Suicide Prevention.
Duties: Under the supervision of the SPRC Leadership Team, the BPR Coordinator will support the SPRC mission to build capacity and infrastructure for effective suicide prevention through consultation, training, and resources that promote suicide prevention best practices; increase the ability of state, tribal, healthcare and community systems to implement comprehensive efforts to reduce rates of suicide deaths and attempts; and integrate the voice of lived experience and empower families and communities to provide effective, appropriate support to those at risk for suicide. Specific responsibilities include:
Supervise and direct the identification and synthesis of data on effectiveness of suicide prevention programs.
Perform qualitative and quantitative analyses, using existing data on suicide prevention programs
Create consensus among multiple stakeholder on criteria for inclusion of programs, policies, and practices in the BPR and communicate that criteria effectively to the field of suicide prevention
Develop an application process for the BPR
Convene subject matter experts to review programs, policies, and practices submitted to the BPR
Lead the work of organizing and distributing information about programs, policies, and practices selected for inclusion in the BPR
Ensure that the voices of those with lived experience are included in the design and implementation of the BPR
Develop and/or share existing resources to increase the capacity of new or previously unrecognized prevention programs, policies, and practices to document their effectiveness.
Executing special projects, researching and analyzing data, writing reports, and making recommendations for application of data to prevention practice
Serving as the primary contact on evaluation projects with other university, state and federal agencies and corporate affiliates

Required Education: Master’s degree in public health, epidemiology, social science, or related field AND minimum
5 years’ experience related to suicide prevention program management and/or evaluation of public health or behavioral health efforts.
Skills:
Familiarity with the research literature on suicide prevention and/or mental health promotion *** Required writing sample should demonstrate your familiarity with this literature***
Demonstrated ability to identify the key sections of a research study (methods, limitations, statistical findings, etc.) and to paraphrase sections from research articles
Experience conducting systematic literature reviews
Experience conducting program evaluations
Excellent organization and team leadership skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Strong writing and editing skills
Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication and cultural competence skills
Must be flexible, possess strong prioritization and time management skills
Department Perferences:
Doctorate or other terminal level degree AND 5+ years’ experience in evaluating suicide prevention efforts
