Best Buy has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Senior Analyst - Pricing. The Senior Analyst - Pricing owns the development and execution of pricing strategies for their assigned categories and influences business stakeholders by providing in-depth, category and channel specific pricing analysis and recommendations across pricing capabilities. In addition, this individual will help to drive improvements to current pricing processes and participate in the development of new tools and reporting. With the evolution of the pricing organization, this individual may also be called upon to support various special projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute Clearance, Open Box, and Competitive Pricing Strategies to optimize profit, manage at-risk inventory and/or drive Price Perception
Partner with Category Lead and Marketing teams to develop promotional pricing strategies that support business and enterprise goals
Act as an integration point between Pricing and Category Teams. Develop strong, trust-infused relationships with these teams by compiling persuasive recommendations to help guide pricing-related decisions
Drive enhancements to pricing processes, tools, and reporting.
Track pricing performance against financial goals and key performance indicators; identify risks and opportunities which may impact overall performance
Provide analysis and actionable recommendations, across pricing capabilities, including forecasted and actual financial impacts of proposed pricing actions
Communication and Influence
Present insights/recommendations to Category Leaders and other cross functional partners in a clear and concise manner that drives understanding and action
Partner with cross-functional teams (Retail Ops, Demand Planning, Category Leads, Space Management, ECommerce, Secondary Markets, Finance, etc...) to improve financial results, ensure alignment of price strategy and seamless execution of pricing-related priorities.
Work with Pricing Data Science team to improve pricing analytics, complete strategic projects, and test and measure different pricing strategies
Team Leadership & Process Improvement
Contribute to team development through sharing of best practices, and/or project/capability work
Demonstrate a teachable proficiency of current state pricing processes along with well supported documentation of application of these processes within your business
Support continuous improvement of current state processes, tools, and reporting through collaboration and quality control processes
Contribute business requirements for process, tool, or reporting enhancements
Participate in user acceptance testing of new tools and reporting
Basic Requirements
2 or more years of experience performing quantitative/financial analysis, pricing or promotion management, or business analysis within a retail, consulting or consumer-oriented industry
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
Preferred Requirements
Demonstrated ability to build strong trust-infused relationships
Experience in retail industry in pricing, inventory management, merchandising and/or finance
Process improvement and/or project management skills
Experience influencing others and providing leadership level updates
