We are looking for a full time Production Area Material Handler (1st Shift) for our headquarters in Olathe, Kansas. As a Production Area Material Handler, you’ll store and pull parts to support SMT operations, move production assemblies between operations and  obtain other materials as required.
 
Other essential functions in this role include:


  • Pull material from Vertical Lift Module (VLM) as required

  • Return unused material to VLM

  • Maintain part number identification of materials

  • Maintain moisture sensitive devices per storage criteria

  • Walk a frequent circuit through Manufacturing to move production assemblies between operations

  • Deliver “Floor Issued” items requested by Production Associates

  • Refill commonly used adhesives and chemicals from parent storage containers and label properly. Perform delivery of same

  • Deliver commonly used consumables in the factory such as finger cots, gloves, and soldering tips

  • Assist with capturing current snapshot of inventory when implementing Engineering Change Orders in the factory

  • Prioritize multiple tasks and meet developing priorities

  • Compliance with HRD-003 (Garmin’s Attendance Policy)

  • Compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements

  • Frequently required to walk or stand for extended periods. Must be able to lift/move 55 pounds


Other Responsibilities include:


  • Perform other work related duties as assigned

  • Comply with all corporate and departmental procedures

Qualified candidates will possess a  High School Diploma or GED. Other required skills include:



  • Basic computer skills




  • Previous experience with MRP/ERP applications or inventory systems (Preferably Oracle)




  • Verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills, to provide for respectful work related communications with peers and personnel from other departments (direct contact and use of electronic mail systems)




  • Must have attention to detail.




  • Frequently required to walk or stand for extended periods. Must be able to lift/move 55 pounds




  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision and distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus



Candidates with previous warehouse and manufacturing experience are highly preferred!
