MYR Energy Servicesprovides EPC contracting services for renewable and solar energy facilities throughout the U.S. including permitting, energy storage, complete solar facilities, and substation and transmission line interconnections.
The Field Engineer is an entry level management position that will assist the Project Manager/Executive and Superintendent with the day to day operations of an assigned construction project.
While the position is being advertised in Denver, the job duties will be in the field at job locations across the country. Candidates will typically live and work in the area of the project and then travel as project needs change. The ability to travel and relocate to projects is essential to the success of this position. The initial project will be in the Battle Mountain, NV area where we will be constructing a large solar farm.
Duties can include but will not be limited to:
Review of plans and specifications to develop and implement the quality plan and prepare a checklist of definable features of work which require quality inspections
List items the sub-contractor must submit for approval prior to the start of the work
Assist with cost estimates and project scheduling as needed
Ensure maintenance of accurate records
Assist with preparing statements of work, submittals, change management and necessary daily and weekly reporting
Promote safety in construction operations and ensure compliance with safety requirements
Inspect equipment, material, workmanship and finished construction
Check progress of work in the field to ensure compliance with productivities and schedules
Assist the Project Executive/Manager in processing of pay applications, subcontractor billings and accounts payable
Observe work in progress to ensure that procedures are followed, and the materials used conform to required specifications
Quality control monitoring
Production reporting
Cost reporting
Other duties as required
Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other industry-specific professional and ethical conduct standards, if applicable
Job Requirements
Qualifications
BS in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
0-3 years of experience within the construction industry, preferably within the solar field
Be able to travel for extended periods of time
Ability to read blueprints and interpret applicable construction documents
Strong computer skills
Enjoy working in an outdoor construction environment
