Operates various equipment to fabricate metal parts used to manufacture end products.
Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Studies sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to determine methods and sequence of operations to fabricate product
Assembles parts into completed units, using various machines, fixtures, hand tools, and power tools
Fabricates, assembles, and modifies tooling, such as fixtures, templates, and molds or dies to produce parts and assemblies
Lays out and verifies dimensions of parts, using precision measuring and marking instruments
Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media
Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines
Measures, examines, and tests completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications
Dismantles machine or equipment, using hand tools and power tools, to examine parts for defect or to remove defective parts
Cleans, lubricates, and maintains machines, tools, and equipment to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter
Cuts and shapes sheet metal and bends metal to specified shape
Uses specified work procedures for fabricating new structural products using variety of metalworking machines
Tests experimental models under simulated operating conditions for such purposes as development, standardization and feasibility of design
All other duties assigned by management
Skills:
Demonstrated ability in the comprehension of and practical application of workmanship standards
Ability to read tape measure and display basic math skills
Ability to operate hand tools and metalworking machine tools (Tubing Bender, Press Brake, Straightener, Iron Worker, Plate Plasma Cutter, Chop Saw/Cold Saw, Pipe Plasma Cutter, Punch Press, Amada Cutting Machine) for purposes of machining parts to specifications
Qualifications:
Ability to use all applicable machinery and equipment
High school diploma or the equivalent is recommended
At least two (2) years of manufacturing experience preferred
Ability to be trained on the job
Ability to work together with a team
Physical Requirements:
Extended periods of sitting and/or walking (33% - 75% of time)
Stooping, bending, twisting, leaning (10% - 25% of time)
Lifting up to 40 lbs. occasionally (0% - 33% of time)
