Analyst - Corporate Planning, Supply Chain Management



Cleveland-Cliffs is the largest flat-rolled steel company and the largest iron ore pellet producer in North America. The company is vertically integrated from mining through iron making, steelmaking, rolling, finishing and downstream with hot and cold stamping of steel parts and components.

There is an immediate opportunity for an analyst in our Supply Chain Management - Corporate Planning department ideally located in East Chicago, IN. The analyst will consolidate plant reporting for billings, production, inventory, customer delivery, and various other supply chain metrics. This individual will interact mainly with plant planning and commercial, but also include interactions with various finance, quality, and operating groups to understand required data and resolve data communication issues.



Responsibilities

• Utilize Microsoft Access & Excel (and possibly SQL) to find, retrieve, filter, and validate data from multiple servers, tables, and manufacturing systems


• Support the monthly Forecast process, as well as the Annual Business Plan, by handling, checking, and consolidating plant data in a fast-paced environment by providing analytical support for issues that arise during the process


• Consolidate plant planning data for daily and weekly reporting for Cleveland-Cliffs executive reports regarding current operating metrics versus the plan


• Find errors or confirm the accuracy of consolidated plant data by using various sources and techniques


• Develop checks within reports and across reports to ensure consistent data feeds across communications


• Provide ad hoc analyses that can take extreme detail and create a story with themes that clearly show issues and required actions.


• Must be able to change the message or the level of detail to address the appropriate audience


• Attend and participate in a weekly meeting with Product Control to discuss current production variances versus the forecast and the future impact of the current situation


• Work with individual plant planning groups to develop reconciliations for the current forecast targets versus previous forecast targets and versus the current business plan

• Bachelor's degree in Business


• 2 years of experience in business environment with some analytical work history


• Ability to communicate to all levels of the organization.


• A self-starter who displays motivation, innovation, and enthusiasm

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management


• APICS certification


• Experience in production planning, capacity planning, production scheduling, or in managing inventory


• Comfort and experience summarizing, formatting, and handling data. (Power BI experience a plus)
