Job Description:

We are seeking a PRODUCTION UTILITY OPERATOR in our fast-paced manufacturing facility located in Rockdale, IL (Near Joliet). We are seeking an individual with some experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably on a packaging line or paper manufacturing.

This position offers the opportunity for:

REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS
*High school diploma / GED and some experience working on a production line in an industrial setting
*Follow written and verbal instructions.
*Good decision-making and problem-solving skills
*Basic computer skills
*The job requires periodic, non-repetitive, manual lifting of weights that may be in excess of 50 pounds. The working position may be awkward or require turning, twisting and/or bending while lifting, requiring moderate physical agility.

This job also requires the ability to climb stairs and ladders. The nature of the job requires moderate endurance, good manual dexterity and reflexes. The job requires that the employee be responsive to periodic emergencies that may demand speed and accuracy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of a production line and be able to work both independently and in a team environment. Responsibilities in this position will include, but are not limited to:
1.Follow Job Safety Analyses, use safe work practices, and always report hazardous conditions. Wear protective clothing and equipment as required.
2.Keep equipment and area clean and orderly, per assigned housekeeping schedule, paint equipment as directed.
3.Inspect product being packaged for deficiencies.
4.Feed product into tapered, edge or cant line saws.
5.Ensure proper size board is fed into the production line.
6.Assist in clearing line of any upsets.
7.Remove broken boards or obvious rejects.
8.Insert product label onto bundle. Feed bundle to powered conveyors.
9.Monitor operation of shrink wrapper.
10.Keep sealing bars clean.
11.Occasionally train inexperienced employees on the job.
12.Perform other related duties as directed, including duties of another classification.
