Summary of Job Duties:

Provide assistance at the Applied Broiler Research Farm. Assist researchers with experiments and lab tests. Follow established guidelines with regard to animal care, bio-security and facility maintenance and housekeeping. Assist graduate students and hourly employees with bird-care. Assist with setting up and taking down trials which includes weigh-in, feeding, and keeping records. Assist researchers and graduate students with necropsies, taking tissue and blood samples, processing samples and helping with other lab work.



Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications
The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
1. Knowledge of techniques, procedures, and equipment used in poultry research.
2. Ability to operate and provide minor maintenance on farm equipment.
3. Knowledge of procedures used to assure proper animal welfare.
4. Knowledge of farm safety procedures.
