Revenue Cycle Quality Training Analyst

Great Bend Medical Office Building, Hays Medical Center

Position Summary / Career Interest:

This role participates in the entire revenue cycle system life cycle. Provides education to end users with consideration to adult learning principles, workflow and efficiency. Proactively provides educational assistance to end users and observes users interacting with electronic medical record (EMR) to identify additional education needed or system improvement opportunities. Promotes use of the system to support effective operational workflows. Works closely with information systems team and end users to troubleshoot and correct problems relating to applications, and assist with implementations of revenue cycle software products. The goal of the Revenue Cycle Quality and Training Analyst role is to provide direct end user support department improvement through quality and productivity development and reporting, training and education. This role assists in the delivery of the organization's desired outcomes and improved customer satisfaction by improving revenue cycle efficiency and streamlined workflows.

Position Description:


  • Supports Revenue Cycle Lean process improvement and Lean Promotion Office (LPO) through:

  • Coaching staff on Lean process improvement tools and methods and in the ongoing development of the Lean Management system.

  • Participation in workshops, providing documentation support for events, and teaching workshops or training modules as appropriate.

  • Supporting the development of LPO product offerings and infrastructure, including Lean "Best Practices", tools and methods for Lean education and promotion of Lean thinking throughout the organization.

  • Collaboration in a multidisciplinary team environment to produce positive outcomes.

  • Works the LPO and key operational leaders in support of strategic improvement activities as they translate into the value stream and functional areas. Supports Revenue Cycle Quality and Productivity development, tracking and reporting through:

  • Working with Revenue Cycle department leaders to develop, implement, report quality and productivity measures to ensure best in class revenue cycle results.

  • Identify and report individual and department training opportunities through analysis of quality, productivity and compliance reporting.

  • Identify and report workflow and EMR process improvement opportunities through analysis of quality, productivity and compliance reporting.

  • Maintain a high level of customer service with internal and external customers in order to provide ongoing support and improvement of the health systems revenue cycle.

  • Supports Revenue Cycle training and development needs through:

  • Participating in EMR application activities that may impact training, including updating of EMR training environments.

  • Understanding and participating of all pertinent application, stakeholder and leadership roles and the approval process.

  • Understanding the planning, coordination and delivery of training methodologies for HITs and Revenue Cycle departments.

  • Providing at elbow, super user and Credentialed Training support for new EMR functionality, optimizations and upgrades.

  • Following pre-determined training plan to ensure adequate training and coordinates updates to training plan and material to meet ongoing needs of Revenue Cycle teams.

  • Assisting with training for department new hires and existing staff as necessary.

  • Assisting with follow up competencies where applicable after staff training.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required


  • Associate's degree in related field

  • (Associate's degree equivalent - 3 years' experience in area of responsibility)

  • EPIC credentialing within six months of completing orientation; as designated by role

  • HIM-related positions will require RHIT or RHIA, or be eligible to take and pass the exam within six months of hire

Preferred:


  • Bachelor's degree in related field

  • EPIC Proficiency/Certification
