Job Title: Quality Engineer

Location: Sylmar, CA

What we're looking for:

We are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer, who will be responsible for supporting the Quality Manager and Supplier Quality Engineers in day to day QA, QC and QE activities. This person will also be responsible for participating in internal/external corrective activities, drafting, releasing and updating inspection procedures and mapping department process flows.

What you'll be responsible for in this role:

• Assist the Quality Manager and supplier Quality Engineer in day-to-day QA/QC duties


• Lead, create and maintain inspection instructions, plans, procedures, and process flows


• Responsible for handling, and follow up with internal Corrective Action Requests (ICAR), Customer Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR), Supplier Quality Alerts (SQA) and Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR)


• Support internal corrective action and PDCA (Problem Solving) events


• Data collection, data processing, data analysis


• Conduct capability studies, and internal and external supplier audits


• Determines quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes.

What are the basic qualifications?

• Bachelor's Degree in manufacturing/mechanical/quality engineering


• 4+ years of manufacturing/quality or supplier quality industry experience

What are the preferred qualifications?

• Six Sigma Green Belt


• ASQ CQE


• Automotive and discrete manufacturing experience is a plus

To be a great fit for the role:

• Proficient in Excel, Minitab, Word, Visio


• Familiarity with statistical mathematics


• Basic understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerance, process capability (Cpk/Ppk/UCL/LCL), PDCA problem solving


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills


• Willingness to learn and adapt


• Travel less than 5%
