JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for all preventative and scheduled maintenance of the mill involving electrical, mechanical, and boiler operations of the feed mill. Assists in grounds maintenance of the mill. Understands the flow of materials.

RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS

• Directly responsible for all preventative and scheduled maintenance activities.


• Understand the flow of materials being delivered to and from the mill.


• Develop an understanding of operations of all areas of the feed mill.


• Understand and manipulate computer controls for various areas.


• Upgrade, innovate, and confer with other staff and feed mill management to determine when maintenance will least interfere with operations.


• Maintain records of planned and completed maintenance utilizing work orders and maintenance logs.


• Direct and train employees from other departments on basic maintenance projects and facility improvements as requested.


• Estimate costs of parts and supplies to be used during maintenance.


• Other duties as requested by management.

REQUIREMENTS

• Proficient experience in welding, electrical, troubleshooting and PLC (programmable logic controllers) preferred.


• High school diploma or equivalent required and 1+ years' related experience preferred.


• Ability to read and write reports/correspondence and effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees, and visitors in English.


• Must be able to make decisions on routine matters utilizing company policies, procedures and directions from upper management.
