Overview

Assess training needs and design, develop, deliver, and evaluate performance-based learning solutions. Ensure learning technologies achieve desired learning outcomes, including measurable learning objectives. Consult with other staff members and outside vendors to develop a variety of training materials and training programs, including instructor guides, job aids, etc. Partner with business leaders to enhance performance in support of business goals of the organization and the performance needs of employees. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with management and technical staff to develop product, service, automation, or procedural training.

Responsibilities

I. Determine instructional content of courses, curricula, and programs through a training needs analysis process that includes data about learner and organizational performance requirements. Ensure that program design accommodates different learning styles and incorporates principles of adult learning.

II. Use a variety of learning technologies to create design documents for classroom and self paced and blended learning that achieve desired learning outcomes and include measurable learning objectives, instructional activities, and other learning tools and resources.

III. Consult with learning and development staff and outside vendors to develop written training materials; written, audio, or video training aids; web enabled training; or other classroom or distance-learning training sessions/programs. Develop instructional materials/assets, including participant guides, instructor guides, presentations, skills assessments, and job aids.

IV. Incorporate activities designed to enhance learning, leveraging past experience of learners. Use effective questioning skills that promote learning. Recognize differences among learners in the design or delivery of instruction.

V. Partner with business leaders to enhance performance in support of business goals of the organization and the performance needs of employees. Select and/or design appropriate interventions to address performance gaps. Measure the effectiveness of interventions on performance and achievement of business goals.

VI. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with management and staff. Build effective liaisons with technical staff needed to gain technical information and support to develop product, service, automation, or procedural training. Work effectively as a project team member.

VII. Participate in professional insurance and training organizations and seminars designed to advance your adult-learning knowledge and your knowledge of training methodologies and technical applications.

Qualifications

1. Prior Experience:

A minimum of four years of significant property and casualty insurance-related experience in sales, underwriting, insurance coverages, or claims.

2. Education:

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience is required.
* Evidence in continuing education in the insurance industry and/or field-related professional designations are desired.

3. Necessary Knowledge and Abilities:

* Ability to develop and conduct classroom training.
* Ability to incorporate into training such things as company history/culture/operating principles, etc.
* Strong knowledge of insurance coverages and concepts.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
* Ability to learn Church Mutual proprietary software.
* Ability to develop computer skills to include web-based surveys, SharePoint and Learning Management Systems (LMS) proficiency.
* Ability to learn instructional design and adult-learning principles.
* Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills for strong collaboration with business partner.
* Excellent organization skills and detail-oriented with the ability to multitask.
* Research, analytical, and creative problem-solving skills. Ability to learn questioning and feedback skills.
* Ability to develop project management and time management techniques.
* Ability to learn instructional technology media and tools (audiovisual equipment).
* Ability to travel as needed.
* Ability to obtain and maintain designated license.
