A Plant Production Supervisor is primarily responsible for ensuring assigned teams' highest level of productivity in cost-efficient manner, while maintaining high quality standards and customer specifications. In addition, Supervisors direct a team of employees, ensuring compliance with GMPs, safety, and Company policies and procedures.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Supervise, coach and train employees, providing professional development through ongoing feedback of strengths and needed improvement
Promote safety throughout assigned work area
Ensure proper staffing before start-up of production line
Mentor and motivate employees, providing training and development to optimize performance and personal growth
Ensure required document completion and maintenance
Develop and maintain employee relationships while promoting company values (i.e. good attendance, strong work ethic, etc.)
Communicate and ensure compliance with Company policy, standards and procedures
Ensure compliance with established food safety programs, including HACCP, SSOPs and GMPs
Optimize employee engagement through positive leadership
Maximize yields, and minimize downtime
Plan and implement process improvements
All other relevant duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED, Bachelor degree in Poultry Science, Animal Science, Business Management, or related field preferred
1+ year(s) supervisory experience, preferably in poultry or meat processing
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient technology, computer, mathematical and analytical skills
General knowledge of production operations
Working knowledge of poultry processing, food safety regulations, OSHA guidelines, GMPs and HACCP
Proven leadership skills and abilities
Proven team-building abilities
Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character
Physical/Environmental Factors:
Repetitive hand motions, reaching, and lifting up to 20 lbs
Stand and walk on concrete majority of shift
Frequently stoop, kneel, crawl, twist, bend and lift various weights as needed
Occasionally climb ladders, steep inclines, and enter confined spaces
Exposure to cold, humid environment with temperatures ranging from 40 to 90 degrees
Exposure to noise levels greater than 85 decibels
Exposure to strong odors, including ammonia
Exposure to slippery and wet conditions
