ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:


People Management:



  • Communicates and collaborates effectively with EHG leaders and staff as it relates to assigned practice needs for staffing, credentialing, enrollment and scheduling requirements.

  • Establish and maintain strong relations with surgery center leaders, providers, hospital and EHG personnel. Escalate day-to-day operational issues to Senior Director, Practice Operations and Senior Director, Business Operations as needed.

  • Conduct annual performance reviews for clinical and non-clinical staff.

  • Coordinate the orientation process of clinical and nonclinical staff.

  • Liaison to surgery center leaders to facilitate communication and provide support. Facilitate connections with appropriate personnel for further assistance when required.

  • Interfaces with Manager of local surgery center and stays abreast of local staffing and management needs. Provides guidance to practice staff in communicating expectations to clinicians.

  • Ensure new hires are oriented, trained and new hire checklist is completed. Coordinate training/educational courses to include shadow/orientation shifts. Support creation of new hire provider manuals..



  • Coordinates and resolve issues and conflicts quickly and efficiently, balancing patient, practice and division needs. Assumes more direct accountability by facilitating multi-departmental resolution of complex issues.

  • Manages a small practice (generally with fewer than five physicians.


Business Management:



  • Ensures timely completion of fair and adequate provider schedules. Import schedules into databases and release to providers. Maintain provider and staff schedules to assure all shifts are covered and schedules are up-to-date in all databases at all times.

  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, agendas, minutes, calendars and answer and screen provider calls.



  • Run reports as assigned. Track and Trend important data points. Monitor and report metrics as requested from EHG Leadership

  • Assist with development and execution of operational strategies and planning activities.



  • Establish a plan for disaster response and recovery.



  • Assist with the recruitment of providers. Coordinate interviews and travel schedules as needed. Maintain communication with Credentialing, Enrollment and Payroll regarding onboarding.


Process Improvement:



  • Works closely with management to identify issues, brainstorm options, seek new opportunities to reduce cost and optimize resources.

  • Provide input into issues of staffing and productivity. Provide education to providers regarding scheduling policies.

  • Assist in the development of quality plans and monitor process improvement



  • Anticipates issues, looks at existing procedures and seeks out best practices to improve efficiency and profitability. Engages operations staff, providers and leadership as needed to achieve desired results.



  • Investigate and facilitate resolution of billing issues of varying complexity that directly influence client and patient satisfaction.


General Administrative:



  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

  • Assist provider credentialing to pull necessary information as necessary.

  • Organize files, contracts and confidential paperwork.

  • Maintain and send reminders to all providers regarding licensure expirations, credentials and compliance training


Regulatory Compliance:


Adherence to and compliance with information systems security is everyone's responsibility. It is the responsibility of every computer user to: Know and follow Information Systems security policies and procedures. Attend Information Systems security training, when offered. Report information systems security problems


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:



  • Understanding of the healthcare industry and its evolving trends

  • Strong customer service orientation, results oriented; resolves problems in a timely manner

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organization skills

  • Working knowledge of medical terminology

  • Proficiency with EMR systems and software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite



Education/Experience:


Bachelor's degree with a minimum of five (1) year experience within the healthcare services industry, specifically with a physician practice required. Expertise in Practice Management, specifically Ophthalmology, Gastroenterology and Multi-specialty operations preferred. Experience scheduling, credentialing, and recruiting providers preferred.



Mathematical Skills:


Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals and percentages.



Language Skills:


Ability to understand, read, write and speak English. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to successfully write business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information, respond to questions and professionally interact with managers, employees, clients, vendors and the general public.



Reasoning Ability:


Ability to recognize and define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and correct errors. Ability to understand and interpret basic financial data. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in a variety of forms and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
