Job Description:

A reputable hospital in Kansas is seeking a dynamic Surgical Services Director to lead their amazing surgical services team.

The Perioperative Service Line sees around 2,000 cases annually. The surgical services line offers a wide range of inpatient and outpatient Surgical Services including Spine, Orthopedic, Podiatry, Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) as well as host of Cardiovascular procedures.

The Nurse Director of Surgery will report directly to the Chief Nursing Officer and oversee all aspects of the Operating Rooms including pre-op and post-op and Sterile Processing. The Surgical Services Director will lead a talented team and be responsible for hiring, scheduling and evaluating those team members. Having strong communication skills will be key in planning and coordinating with staff, including surgeons and outside vendors as well as nursing staff to ensure proper staffing, equipment and instruments are available for all surgical cases.

The Surgical Services Director will also oversee the department budget and supervise the purchasing of capital equipment and instruments. The Director of Surgery will promote an environment of harmony and cooperation to optimize both patient and surgeon satisfaction.  A focus on improving and streamlining functions of the Surgical Services department so that it will run as efficiently as possible while maintaining the highest level of patient safety will be asked of the Nurse Director of Surgery.
