The Opportunity:
The A/V Solutions Engineer provides technical oversight and hands-on support for various AV projects within Mattel, Inc. Coordinates & supports the design, installation, training, maintaining, and operation of sound, video, and control systems for campus, including over 200 conference rooms, theater spaces, A/V control rooms, off-site meetings, live events, and trade shows.

What Your Impact Will Be:

• Reports directly to the Manager of Audio Visual and Broadcast Services, while working closely with the AV Supervisor, Sr. AV Coordinator, and freelance technical staff.


• Provides daily operational support to the department while acting a primary point of contact for assigned projects.


• Leads AV production teams for events and large meetings; set-up, show, and strike.


• Provides recommendations and supports virtual meetings and events needing to utilize collaboration technology platforms such as Zoom, Teams, and Blue Jeans.


• Coordinates AV installations, including evaluating AV system design and makes recommendations, procures needed equipment, and schedules installations.


• Helps develop project cost proposals and estimates. Assists with tracking budgets for projects.


• Represents department in project meetings and attends site visits as needed.


• Manages inbound AV requests and monitor departments email inbox throughout the day.


• Supports high-level executive leadership meetings and events such as Board of Directors, etc.


• Operates mixing boards, wireless microphones, video switchers, projection systems, lighting consoles, graphics stations, video conference systems.


• Provide AV system training to technicians and end users as needed.


• Provide system installation, operation, and maintenance support as needed.


• Conduct routine AV system inspections of room systems and loaner equipment to insure proper AV set-up, placement and ensure all equipment is in proper working order.


• Responsible for the maintenance of department audio and video archives, assuring its accuracy and viability.


• Address and troubleshoot AV issues received via email or phone, as well as through monitoring tools, for videoconferencing endpoints, infrastructure, integrated A/V systems, Office 365 and networks.


• Coordinate AV equipment repair as necessary and work with dealer, warranty, and service centers where applicable.


• Research AV solutions and stays up to speed on current and future AV engineering technology. Attend industry related conferences and tradeshows.
