Job Description



LOOKING FOR: A self-driven, junior-level candidate with the ability to obtain Secret clearance to join our AMERICAN SYSTEMS Engineering Services team as a Mechanical Engineer in Norwich, CT.

As a Submarine Mechanical Engineer I you will:


  • Work within the Engineering Services Division teams and provide on-site support for the United States Navy

A week in the life of a Submarine Mechanical Engineer I:


  • Conduct engineering analysis of mechanical structures

  • Workin conjunction with other engineers and designers to develop software models

  • Use those models to predict performance under varied conditions

  • Assist with material selection based on tested calculations

  • Conduct weight and moment calculations

  • Conduct evaluations under varied operational conditions

  • Work on Temporary Alterations, Operational Alterations and Ship Alterations based on studies

  • Work under senior level engineer to learn

Job Requirements




  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • Eligible to obtain a secret clearance

At least 1+ years of experience in:


  • Working with AutoCAD or Solidworks in a senior design project

  • Working with Microsoft Office


  • Will accept technical certification credit for military experience, where possible
