Assistant Daycare Teacher - Lally Early Learning Center at Capital District YMCA in Schenectady, New York

Our Lally Early Learning Center is Hiring with a $300.00 sign on bonus!
Through the end of August, we’ll start you off with a $150 bonus just for joining our team, and add another $150 bonus after just 3 months with us.

Our Assistant Teacher helps with the planning and implementation of a developmentally appropriate childcare program curriculum. Assistant Teachers provide a quality experience to children and parents that focuses on building achievement and belonging in youth and relationships among youth and within families.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be 18 years of age.


• HS Diploma/GED required.


• One year experience working with children required.


• Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred.


• Submission of NYS Medical Statement of Childcare Staff Form documenting physician clearance to work in a childcare setting as well as TB Test which meets Health and Social Service requirement.


• Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff; CPR; First Aid; AED; Blood borne Pathogens to be completed within 30 days of hire.


• Excellent organizational, communication and problem solving skills. Basic knowledge of computers.


• Previous experience with diverse populations. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.
