The Mortgage Finance Group (MFG) within Asset-Backed Finance provides financing and capital markets solutions to entities that own, originate, or service residential real estate loans and related assets. Our client base consists of specialty finance companies, mortgage originators and servicers, hedge funds, private equity firms, and asset managers. We provide highly structured secured lending arrangements collateralized by residential mortgage backed securities ("RMBS"), residential whole loans, single-family rental properties, and mortgage servicing receivables. Additionally, we provide advisory, securities underwriting, and distribution services for clients who access the bond markets through securitization.

Client Service Consultant 3

MFG is seeking a qualified client service consultant to join the pre-funding loan review team. This position is responsible for ensuring loans qualify for warehouse facility at all times and takes action or makes recommendations based on the current status of the loan. Interacts frequently and directly with customers (lenders) by phone and email. Must work well in a team environment and have excellent communication skills. Knowledge of Conventional, Government, Non Conforming and NQM mortgage documentation and guidelines required.

Primary responsibilities of the position include:

• Resolve and document warehouse validation findings for accuracy into system of record.
• Compare loan documents received for accuracy/eligibility to system of record and applicable guidelines.
• Collaborate with internal collateral partners to ensure collateral is dry prior to funding as required by product type.
• Serving as key point of contact for managing client inquiries and issues related product eligibility, turn times, suspended files and status prior to funding.
• Monitoring and responding to inquires received via shared prefunding mailbox.

There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit's risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of client service experience demonstrated through work or military experience
