Description:


Loyola Medicine, treating the whole person with compassion-to \"also treat the human spirit.\" The Radiology Department seeks a CT Technologist to perform and produce high quality C.T. images and generate 3-D images within time parameters and in accordance with LUHS guidelines


Second shift- 3:00pm-11:30pm. Rotating weekends and holidays


Training done on a 1st shift- 8:00am-4:30pm M-F minimum two weeks, but that depends on the person; may need an additional week.
In this position, the CT Technologist II will perform computerized tomography procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs technical procedures that require independent judgement, ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for computerized tomographic diagnosis.



Position Requirements:



  • Performs computerized tomographic procedures in accordance with departmental guidelines to provide the physicians with the highest quality of diagnostic information. Participates in advance research projects. Assists in the development of new procedure protocols. Acts as the CT technical expert for the department. Troubleshoots equipment and arranges for repairs in the absence of the assistant manager.

  • Explains the procedure to the patient and answers any questions prior to the performance of the exam.

  • Obtains patient history pertinent to exam.

  • Produces high quality C.T. images and generate 3-D images within proper time parameters.

  • Adheres to procedure protocols at all times.

  • Correctly identifies study with patient identification and proper orientation.

  • Send and verify exams in PACS.

  • Archives/network exams according to department protocols.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required:



  • Associates Degree OR equivalent training acquired via work experience or education


  • Specify Degree(s): Radiologic Technology

  • 3-5 years of previous job-related experience




Preferred:



  • 6-10 years of previous job-related experience





Licensure/Certifications:




Required:



  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)

  • Computer Assisted Tomography (CT Technologist)

  • CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)

  • Illinois Emergency Management Agency Certification (IEMA)
