Position Description

This is a NEW position within the Company. We are looking to add an individual with expert-level analytical and financial modeling skills to our Corporate Accounting/Finance Department staff. This position plays a critical role in the ongoing success and growth of Peckham by focusing on the collection, analysis and trending data by utilizing the enterprise resource planning information and various systems to provide proposed solutions which will enhance both top and bottom line performance throughout the Company. This role will work across lines of business and with stakeholders including (but not limited to), CEO, VP's and AVP's, CFO, Corporate Controller and Departmental personnel to assist efforts around dashboards, variance analysis, data mining, improved performance metrics reporting, forecasting, and financial modeling related to current business operations and future acquisition opportunities.

The ideal candidate must have proven analytical and data gathering skills, high proficiency in financial modeling, familiarity with data query/data management tools, excellent communication and presentation skills along with a strong business acumen.

Essential Functions


  • Analyses business and financial data.
  • Creates financial models based on analyses to support organizational decision making and acquisition strategies.
  • Develops financial schedules/reports for organizational leaders.
  • Analyzes Company and industry trends and makes recommendations based on those trends.
  • Evaluates capital expenditures by preparing Return on Investment calculations.
  • Develops automated reporting and forecasting tools for more efficient use and presentation of data.
  • Assists in preparation of forecasts and budgets.
  • Performs activities such as post-closing P&L variance analysis, analyzing of job profitability, key costs, etc.
  • Presents, explains, and comments on financial results at the regional level.
  • Research and compiles information from various systems and sources and recommends approaches to improve profitability.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.




    Supervisory Responsibility

    This position has no supervisory responsibilities.




    Work Environment

    This job operates in an office and professional environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers. On occasion the job will require going out in the field visiting Company operations and/or attending in-person meetings.




    Physical Demands

    This is mostly sedentary outside of travel in an office space.

    This would require the ability to sit at a desk, frequent walking, bend or stand, as necessary.




    Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

    Designated days and schedule will be primarily Monday-Friday though will also be based on the needs of the operation and business, may require weekends, nights and early mornings.




    Travel

    Position requires up to 5% travel by car to offices throughout Hudson Valley, Vermont and Massachusetts based on the needs of the operations and business.

    Position Requirements

    Education, Abilities, Competencies and Experience Required:


    • Bachelor's degree in Finance required, Master's degree preferred.
    • Minimum of seven years of experience in analyzing data and financial modeling.
    • Experience with mergers and acquisitions.
    • Advanced level proficiency in Microsoft Office. Tableau desired.
    • Strong interpersonal skills characterized with the ability to communicate facts and opinions accurately.
    • Demonstrated ability to compile quantitative information for business metrics, analyses, and reporting.
    • Ability to prioritize work appropriately and complete work accurately, thoroughly and within deadlines.
    • Ability to self-manage, work independently, and seek guidance as needed.
    • Strong verbal and communication skills; ability to reach audiences using various communication styles and methods.
    • Strong track record of supporting and following up with multiple stakeholders.
    • Excellent organizational, problem solving and analytical skills.
    • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
    • Thorough understanding of methods of systems analysis and the principles, design, and procedural methods used in big data analysis.
    • Thorough understanding of project management.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
