Our Calhoun location in Tennessee, United States is currently seeking talent to fill the position of E/I Supervisor, Utilities. This job is permanent, full-time.


JOB TITLE: Electrical & Instrumentation Supervisor

LOCATION: Calhoun, Tennessee 

DEPARTMENT: Utilities (Power and Steam)

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 


  • Ensure diligent application of the Health & Safety Program, collective agreements and company policies.

  • Promote involvement by personnel and encourage a work atmosphere that contributes to objectives through communication, delegation, teamwork and recognition of results.

  • Foster continuous improvement and assist with the problem-solving process.  Develop and optimize maintenance procedures while promoting the introduction of new initiatives.

  • Provide technical assistance and aid in troubleshooting to minimize downtime.

  • Develop job scope for maintenance and contracted jobs.

  • Receiving, planning, estimating, and coordinating maintenance work identified by a work request.

  • Coordinating the availability of equipment to be worked on, parts required, and special tools, skills, permits, and equipment.

  • Serve as the key contact between E&I and operations personnel in the area.  Coordinate resources to tasks.

  • Work with operations personnel to develop operating guidelines for equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations.

  • Assist area maintenance resources in developing procedures to increase equipment/process reliability and reduce maintenance costs.

  • Arrange Materials and Services through Purchasing personnel and vendors.

  • Provide on-call coverage on a rotating basis

  • Foster safety initiatives in E&I crew and maintain NFPA 70e standards in shop electric equipment and in crew personal protective equipment.

  • Working through the appropriate functional managers, ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulations and standards.  Able to access and retrieve information from the Environmental intranet page.

 

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS OR CONSIDERATIONS

The ideal candidate should possess:


  • 3-5 years personnel supervisory experience in an electrical and instrumentation environment.

  • Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Project as well as SAP Maintenance modules

  • Strong analytical, organizational and planning skills.

  • Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Experience with PLC’s, VFD’s, DCS‘s, Turbine/Generator Controls, High and Medium Voltage systems a plus.

  • Ability to work under pressure.

  • An Electrical Engineering degree a plus, but not required.

  • Minimum 3-5 years heavy industrial experience.

  • Pulp and Paper Mill experience is an asset.
