Data Reporting Analyst II

Any Location - OR, WA, ID or UT



Partner with the business to analyze how business intelligence solutions can create process efficiencies and deliver actionable insights to improve customer experiences. Drive to deliver sustainable, impactful data and reporting elements while building strong business partnerships to further analytics, efficiency gains, and strategic initiatives.



General Functions and Outcomes


  • Provides analytical support to any or all divisions of the organization by mining data, conducting analysis, and interpreting results related to business needs.

  • Develops knowledge of health plan operations, health plan data sources and structures, and cost containment strategies.

  • Identifies problems or needed changes, recommends resolution, and participates in quality improvement efforts.

  • Identifies needed reporting, assembles or directs the assembly of reports and distributes such information.

  • Performs acceptance testing of new reports, programs and models.

  • Documents business requirements and methods used to generate work output.

  • Drives analytic innovation and best practices within Cambia.

  • Actively identifies and eliminates inefficient or ineffective use of resources and provides recommendation on process improvements.

  • Beginning to take responsibility for ad hoc query work, research items and sustainment. Takes on portions of projects and beginning to own small projects.

  • Developing knowledge of and the ability to analyze data from most commonly used data systems.

  • Seeks to understand purpose behind requests and develop business knowledge in assigned areas.

  • Developing skill at summarizing & providing appropriate content and level of detail for the audience (technical or non).

  • Demonstrated experience in owning and independently completing ad hoc query work, research items and sustainment work. Demonstrated experience owning small to mid-sized projects. Able to commit to and meet timelines.

  • Seeks input from team members to ensure that the customer story is told effectively.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and adheres to team standards, guidelines and best practices.

  • Beginning to demonstrate ability to analyze solutions with a wholistic view and drive for automation and sustainability in team deliverables.

  • Consistently able to complete high quality deliverables that demonstrate an understanding of the business need and customer. Provides feedback to team members on this topic as needed.

  • Consistently demonstrates skill at summarizing & providing appropriate content and level of detail for the audience (technical or non).

  • May supervise the gathering and analysis of information.

  • Serve as a resource on analytic programming tools and methods.

  • Reviews data as it relates to health plan operations to assist with the development of cost containment strategies
    .


  • Mentoring and training of new hires.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and the ability to analyze data from most commonly used data systems. Developing knowledge of other assigned systems. SME knowledge of at least one system.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education and/or experience with data concepts, structures and architecture.

  • Demonstrates a high level of accountability (on commitments). Recognizes and escalates risks appropriately.

  • Demonstrated attention to detail, analytical skills and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently, managing deliverable timelines.




  • Possessing the ability to think creatively and demonstrate analytical skills, analyzing complex situations both alone and as part of a team, learning quickly and synthesizing solutions, options and action plans.

  • Displays emotional intelligence in interactions including the ability to listen effectively and respond appropriately (or empathetically) to the needs of the customer.

Additional Minimum Requirements for level II

  • Experience with data concepts, structures and architecture. Proven ability to write medium complexity data queries, manipulation of data (SQL).

  • Demonstrated ability to develop Tableau dashboards including the use of various types of visualizations, data manipulations, level of detail calculations. Typically, 1-2 years Tableau experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage simple to moderate level ETL (Talend) and data management projects.

  • Demonstrated skill at managing small to mid-sized projects.

  • Proven ability to perform difficult analytical tasks with minimal supervision.

would typically have a bachelor's degree in mathematics, computer science or related field and 3-7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
