In this role, you will serve as Sr Paralegal Contracts & IP for Honeywells Connected Enterprise (HCE), our software business group based in Atlanta, GA, as we gain traction to be a leader in the IoT industry. HCE is building software solutions to streamline and centralize the assets, people and processes, translating into smarter, safer, more efficient business decisions for our customers.
Core Job Duties:
Drive effective contract management processes to drive deal speed whilst managing risks including (i) defining and implementing contract management tool workflows, template use, approval processes, data models and integrations; (ii) workload and capacity tracking via automated ticketing systems to manage capacity (iii) enable data driven negotiation leveraging insights from existing contracts.
Manage effective intellectual property (IP) and patent practices including (i) administration of IP committee meetings, recording decisions and tacking implementation; (ii) oversee patent awards process; (iii) manage patent prosecution processes including ensuring accurate records management; (iv) ensure completion of IP related actions in the product development process.
Manage implementation of our trade secret protection program including managing project confidentiality agreements and training.
Oversee our outside counsel matter management including ensuring effective budgeting, matter management, engagement, billing and cost allocations.
Help develop and create internal know-how resources including undertaking research, maintaining databases, providing training and publishing materials.
Support ad-hoc special projects including M&A, audit and investigations.
YOU MUST HAVE:
8 years relevant experience working as a paralegal and/or in legal operations at a leading law-firm, government agency and/or company.
Experience working with contracts and contract management tools, systems and processes.
Knowledge of intellectual property law, patents and trade secrets.
Paralegal qualification and/or legal education
Proficiency in relevant operational software including contract management tools/software, Microsoft software (PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, SharePoint) and data visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI).
Experience working with a software products business and understanding of SaaS / Cloud.
High motivation with boundless energy to get stuff done.
