Serves as an expert in the accounting areas providing analysis, recommendations and training Assists in planning and coordinating accounting activities to satisfy financial statement requirements, data analysis and process improvements
Performs oversight of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes as well as department reporting, metrics and audit support
Assists in planning, organizing and coordinating accounting activities to meet established objectives and schedules including the assignment of duties, monitoring of work completion and approval of reports, journal entries and other data
Performs special projects and provides results to management
Prepare and submit assigned journal entries and account reconciliations
Coordinates the development and maintenance of internal procedures and work instructions
Coordinates the training of personnel in various accounting activities
Maintains accuracy of the financial systems and proposes corrections as necessary
Recommends accounting treatment of non-routine business transactions, performs ad-hoc analysis and completes special projects
Serves as a consultant and external spokesperson for the Finance organization on major matters pertaining to policies, plans and objectives
Helps ensure a sound internal control environment exists
Serves as liaison to management in the absence of supervision
Contributes to the development of new principles and concepts
May perform other duties as required
Conducts activities in a safe and healthy manner and works in accordance with established HS&E requirements to ensure the protection of employees, the public, and the environment. You Must Have:
U.S. citizenship in order to obtain and maintain U.S. Department of Energy ""Q"" level security clearance
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field at an accredited university with compensatory Finance experience; or in lieu of a degree a minimum of seven years Finance/Accounting experience
Advanced level of proficiency applying advanced principles, theories and concepts
Experience working with PeopleSoft
Government contracting experience
