Job Description:

This individual will be responsible for managing all aspects of the fund management of Carlyle Global Credit Structured Credit carry funds.

This position involves the broad range of responsibilities summarized below:

  • Manage and review of fund accounting records, financial statements, partners' capital account statements, tax returns, K-1 forms and capital calls/distribution allocation files and letters. Such records/data will be prepared by the Third Party Administrator ("TPA")

  • Manage capital call and distribution process including evaluation of carried interest models

  • Manage review of quarterly investment valuation models and preparation of materials for the valuation sub-committee

  • Coordination with deal team, legal/tax counsel, and middle office operations team to plan and execute deal closings including legal entity structuring

  • Manage corporate deliverables and disclosures for the firm's public company reporting

  • Complete responses to investor correspondence, inquiries, and requests are timely and accurately addressed

  • Review the data analysis needed for Carlyle's FP&A team including quarterly revenue and expense projections

  • During fundraising, the individual will also help create various analysis of data needed for the updating marketing materials, assisting with the preparation of due diligence questionnaire responses, as well as assist with evaluation of side-letter arrangement and fund closing processes. In addition, individual will be working with counsel to prepare and review the fund agreements and participate in investor meetings for operations overview

  • Other ad-hoc projects where needed

This position requires strong accounting and finance experience, good knowledge of the credit industry and private credit funds, valuation techniques for both liquid and illiquid credit products, sound organizational and analytical skills as well as the ability to build rapport with Carlyle investors, TPA and the various constituents we interact with throughout the firm. This position requires the individual to take full ownership of assigned responsibilities and manage and develop junior team members in the fund management group.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required

  • CPA required

  • 8-10 years of experience required

  • Strong technical knowledge of GAAP

  • Strong educational background in accounting/finance

  • Strong knowledge of accounting & reporting for private credit securities is preferred

Key Duties/

Fund Management / Investor Reporting

  • Coordination with investment team, legal/tax counsel, and middle office operations team to plan and execute fund and deal closings including legal entity structuring

  • Review formation process for all new entities and prepare documentation needed for internal Legal Entity approval, coordinate establishment of tax documentation (W8, W9) for all entities

  • Review of revenue projection models

  • Review of budgeting and re-forecasting files

  • Manage and oversee fund capital activity including capital call calculations, distribution calculations and the carry waterfall analysis, management fee and other allocations or reallocations prepared by the TPA.

  • Coordination and review of valuations prepared by deal team

  • Preparation of materials and certifications for quarterly Valuation Sub-Committee Meeting

  • Review performance metrics compiled by TPA

  • Assist with diligence and closing of newly admitted LPs and assist in diligence meetings and requests

  • Monitor legal compliance with various fund agreements and arrangements

Financial Reporting

  • Review and oversight of quarterly fund closes based on data received from the TPA, which includes review of related support for all balance sheet and income statement accounts

  • Review and oversight of accrued and realized carry calculations from the TPA

  • Review and oversight of capital allocations and capital statements prepared by TPA

  • Review and oversight of financial statements

  • Coordinate interim and year-end audit requests and address questions from external auditors as well as investors

  • Coordinate and manage corporate deliverables and disclosures for firm's public company reporting


  • Work with tax counsel on new deals specific tax structuring needs

  • Review of annual partnership tax returns and investor K1s

  • Monitor entities for tax compliance

  • Review various tax analysis, including ASC 740

  • Oversight of external tax middle office team
