Responsibilities

    Continue learning the best practices to be a responsive, proactive, solutions-oriented professional, working collaboratively within a team environment
    * Follow and be responsive to budgets and schedules; continue learning to identify departures or issues early to meet client expectations for technical excellence, budget and schedule
    * Use prescribed methods to perform specific and limited portions of broader projects, including the input of data into pre-written programs, running reports or calculations, performing technical analysis, designing portions of a project and preparing drawings of designs
    * Continue learning best practices in coordinating all design work with other team disciplines
    * Increase proficiency in relevant applications, such as Revit, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil3D, Revit, AutoCAD Electrical Design Suite; MicroStation with Substation or Plant add-in, ETAP, SKM, MFAD, LPILE, or Cymcap, as well as business operations applications including Microsoft Office
    * Continue learning to design and manage plan production by staff, and assist in production of construction documents, including plans, specifications, calculations, and quantity takeoffs
    * Provide quality assurance checks on drawing packages and calculations prepared by others
    * Interpret and apply client, company, and field standards as needed
    * Increase knowledge of relevant local codes and industry standards
    * Increase knowledge of appropriate electrical, building mechanical, and plumbing systems
    * Exposure to working in teams on many different types of
    * projects that develop service line expertise:
    * Gas Engineering
    * Electrical Engineering
    * Civil Engineering
    * Structural Engineering
    * Civil engineering roles will be responsible for learning design capabilities such as:
    * Site design, horizontal control, mass grading, detailed grading design experience
    * Utilities design and storm drain system design skills
    * Drainage analysis
    * Public improvements design skills, including coordination with grading, drainage, and utilities design, for site specific development or subdivision work
    * Roadway design, public and private
    * Interpretation of field survey data

Qualifications

Education/Qualifications:
* Positive attitude, ability to work collaboratively with others
* Valid driver's license
* PE
* Bachelor's degree in relevant field such as Engineering, Civil Engineering,, Structural Engineering or Construction Management
* Good verbal and written communication skills
* Strong problem-solving skills
* 2-5 years' experience in an appropriate utility engineering role, or in consulting engineering or utility design
* Proficient in using Microsoft Office, with ability to use Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project scheduling software

Desired Qualifications:
* PE or SE certification in at least one state, based on specialty area
* Proficiency with appropriate software applications, such as Revit, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD Electrical Design Suite, Plant 3D, MicroStation with Substation or Plant add-in, ETAP, SKM, MFAD, LPILE, or Cymcap, as well some knowledge of PLS-CADD for appropriate electrical roles
* At least 1 year of experience in public utility-related work
* Master's degree in in appropriate field, such as Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Business Administration, based on specialty area
* For gas roles, a technical background in materials, machine design, structures, fluids, or thermodynamics is preferred
* Some knowledge of Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project scheduling software
* For electrical roles, 3+ years of experience, including direct design, drawing preparation, technical calculations, and construction support in the electrical field

Metrics:
* Evaluation is, in part, based on the timely and accurate completion of assigned work
* Attends in-house seminars and educational opportunities outside of the offices

Physical Demands:
* This position requires sitting for extensive periods of time
* Must be able to visually interpret complex drawings
