I. Job Summary | Major goals and objectives.

As the Fashion & Accessories Assistant, you will assist the fashion department with the production of monthly front-of-book fashion stories, fashion features and cover stories. You will gather, write and factcheck all print fashion credits for merchandise included in front-of-book and feature stories. In addition, you will be responsible for coordinating merchandise/sample requests and run throughs; building and updating fashion story and trend boards; maintaining and circulating monthly advertiser and edit credit reports; processing departmental expenses and invoices; and assisting the fashion team with scheduling, travel and general administrative tasks.

  • Handle general fashion and accessories department administrative tasks, including merchandise handling and sample requests (shipping and receiving), insurance, fashion closet organization, messenger requests, calendar management, travel and photo shoot arrangements, mail sorting and invoice processing

  • Gather, write and factcheck all fashion credits for the magazine

  • Build and update fashion boards for FOB fashion stories and features

  • Maintain, update and distribute advertiser and edit credit lists

III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.

Education:

Bachelor's degree preferred

Experience:

Minimum 1 to 2 years related experience, ideally at a national consumer magazine

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Must be a highly organized self-starter, able to balance multiple projects at once

Must thrive in a deadline-driven environment

% Travel Required (Approximate): 5-10%
