Description

Reporting to the Principal Investigator, the Program Manager in Department of Emergency Medicine within the Lewis Katz School of Medicine's work directly with the Principal Investigator and Clinical Research Coordinators to ensure that all operational aspects of each clinical grant project are met. The incumbent will lead the ongoing management of the core components of a sub-unit within the Research division.

Responsibilities include but not limited to, defining the goals and priorities for the sub-unit for individual clinical research projects, overseeing the successful timeline and ultimate completion of such projects, and serving as an authority within the area of logistical management to ensure that all project activities remain within scope; assists in developing the operational implementation of individual clinical research projects, including strategies, schedules, procedures, and performance improvement tactics; manages the day-to-day operation of complex clinical research projects in compliance with the stated study protocols; delegating tasks to successfully meet daily deadlines; monitor's progress; motivates those involved in the study to complete tasks on time; consistently performs quality control measures; adjusts schedules and targets as needed; identifies the potential risks and liabilities of multiple clinical research projects and manages such through the enhancement or alteration of existing protocols; communicates with division leadership and the sub-unit to ensure the clinical research project remains aligned with the team's goals; initiates and maintains relationships with external stakeholders, including various service areas throughout the health system to keep them informed of the studies progress; responsible for providing input on the performance management of the sub-unit; compiles data and prepares interim result reports to assist in ensuring a positive representation of the sub-unit. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in healthcare or related field and at least 4 year of experiencein healthcare setting or related office environment to allow for better understanding of the medical context and patient flow of each clinical trial. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

*Capable of "managing up" to ensure deadlines are met.

*Excellent skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint mandatory).

Preferred:

*Clinical experience and/or licensure in a biomedical healthcare field preferred.

This position requires a background check.

This position requires Child Abuse Certifications prior to the commencement of service.

This is a grant funded position.
