Clariant Oil Services is seeking a District Manager to ensure continued execution of the BL Oil Strategy in the Permian Region. The successful candidate will provide overall leadership and guidance to direct reports (Area Managers, Technical Sales Managers, and Business Development Managers) to ensure all activities are in alignment with regional and local business line strategy. Ensure consistency in technical and customer service levels as well as manage customer and supplier relationships by assisting sales and technical representatives on sales calls, surveys, and recommendations.
Responsibilities
District Management
Oversees District team, ensuring achievement of sales growth targets and customer contribution
Responsible for optimizing account, product, and customer portfolios for District
Implement and maintain competitive pricing and contribution margin, aligning with District sales/profit targets
Oversees account management, forecast for District and overall customer relationships
Account Management
Manages existing chemical business for a specified geographic area/customer
Develops and controls individual customers business plans in coordination with Regional Management
Identification, closing and acquiring new business in existing accounts, at agreed annual sales value
Work with Account/Area Managers to execute sales strategy and generate sales growth
Strategy
Responsible for assessment of District, mapping opportunities (incremental & new), and developing value proposition to win business
Ensure activities in area of responsibility are aligned with Business Line and Business Unit strategy
Participate as needed in development of tenders and contracts
Service
Responsible for highest level of ESHA awareness for self and team and adherence to policies/guidelines/laws
Responsible for organizing service levels (needs, resources, service levels, customer segmentation, pricing, etc.)
Manage quality improvement and progress through innovation and Clariant Excellence in all areas of the business
Ensure consistency across District in achievement of Customer Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
Oversee proper management and resolution of customer complaints and issues
Leadership
Manage respective team and deployment of resources
Implement Clariant Performance Management tools, set targets, monitor and contingency plan for responsible area
Ensure people development to full potential, e.g. evaluation, training, coaching, appraising, improvement, talent identification, promotion
Build and motivate a strong team that delivers value and achieves targets, including hiring/onboarding
Relationship Management
Communicate regularly with BL/BU Management, Innovation, Service Units and peers
Represent Clariant to customers in a professional manner at all times
Communicates internally and externally with Clariant Oil Services stakeholders, customers, and other service company personnel to ensure overall sales objectives are met
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Petroleum), Chemistry, Business, or Industrial Distribution, relevant years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
10 years oil and gas industry progressive experience, preference for oilfield chemical service
Working knowledge of budgets, forecasting, and metrics, as well as business software
Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills
Team player attitude, personable and able to build relationships
Ability to obtain all necessary clearances and certifications
Skilled in Microsoft Office
Strong problem solving ability with customers, personnel, operations, and chemical solutions
Ability to travel moderately to frequently
