SUMMARY: This position is responsible for obtaining all necessary required closing information and documentation and reviewing same for accuracy and completeness for SBA and other government guaranteed loan products. This is a performance-based position that requires meeting certain production expectations as communicated by management on a periodic basis. Loan transactions are expected to be processed within the predefined service level agreements (SLA); accounting for fees incurred and funds disbursed is to be accurate and consistent to policy, and preparing loan documents for loan closing. Incumbents in this position may focus partially or entirely on post-closing activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties and special projects may be assigned.
Ensure SBA loans closing, taking full responsibility of getting the loan closed sufficiently with the intent to please the borrower, protect the SBA guarantee, perfect the collateral, and protect the bank against any loss.
Recognize and respect the complexity of SBA loans and the related processes.
Comprehend and accommodate a diverse group of borrowers in which each requires a unique level of service and attention.
Exercise due diligence to collect all required documents and ensure that SBA requirements are met.
Prepare the loan files and related documents in accordance with SBA requirements and regulations.
Contact borrowers as needed throughout the process.
Keep database up-to-date.
Update target closing dates depending on due diligence regarding third-party reports and other related documentation.
Order and review flood, and other required searches for accuracy.
Collect and store documents.
Prepare loan documents in LaserPro and SBA workflow.
Prepare closing instruction letters.
May perform post-closing activities such as loan file reviews and clearing exceptions.
Supervises function, projects or services and/or one or more employees, as applicable.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance coaching; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
HS Diploma required
Associate's DegreeBusiness-related preferred
0-3 Years of commercial loan closing experience required
