Shift Mechanic/CET
SHIFT / WORK HOURS:
Rotating Shift.
PAY LEVEL:
Based on previous work skills and/or knowledge. Pay range $19.36 to $21.49for Technician.
SHIFT PREMIUM:
This position is eligible for a shift premium. The premium is 7.7%
To be eligible for the premium - associates cannot have any attendance occurrences, including days tardy.
REPORTS TO:
This position reports to the Post-Dye Engineer.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF JOB DUTIES:
Shift mechanic is responsible for reacting to and repairing machinery breakdowns throughout the shift in a safe and timely manner. Associate will also be a part of the emergency response team (spill, fire, and inclement weather) and will have certain responsibilities that pertain to each tasks.
PAY RATES:
Technician to Microprocessor level, depending on further education that goes along with the Milliken curriculum.
PPE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:
Earplugs (When working in hearing protection areas)
Steel Toe, Slip Resistant, Waterproof, Electrical Safe Boots (100 Percent of Time)
Gloves (Minimal Use)
Safety Glasses (Minimal Use)
70 E Uniforms (Used when working in a live panel over 48 V)
REQUIREMENTS:
Internal candidates must have excellent attendance.
Associate must be able to score at least a 55% on the shop entry test.
Associate must have a positive attitude.
Associate must have a desire to continuously learn the job.
Associate must be able to communicate with others.
Associate will need to have an above average mechanical aptitude.
Associate must have some electrical aptitude.
Associate will need to possess basic math skills.
Associate will need to possess basic computer skills.
Associate will be part of plant safety process.
Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment
Provide scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment
Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment
Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required equipment service
Assist other engineering associates to perform work as required to keep production machinery and auxiliary equipment in working order
Inform appropriate management and maintenance/production associates of potential mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved
Assist other maintenance personnel with technical troubleshooting
Demonstrate a high level of safety consciousness and fully participate in the Milliken Safety Process
Qualifications: Preferred
Two-year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship program or the equivalent in a mechanical-related field
Thorough knowledge of mechanical components and equipment including PC hardware components, desktop operation system software and application software (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access)
The successful candidate will demonstrate skills in the following:
Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems
Able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Able to work well with various groups of people such as vendors, customers, Milliken associates whether individually or in a team environment
Able to work well and communicate with production associates in order to assist with repairs and troubleshooting
Able to lift and move objects of 50 pounds and be capable of using motorized equipment (fork trucks, tuggers, etc.)
