The Senior Director of Data Management and Systems oversees the design and implementation of systems and technology used for managing customer and business data across the organization (data warehouses, customer data platforms, data visualization tools, and other business intelligence systems).
Develop and implement strategy and processes for effective data management across all Crain brands.
Establish enterprise data architecture by unifying technology systems into a unified customer database.
Formulate techniques for quality data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy, and legitimacy of data.
Guide technology and vendor decisions related to data and analytics to ensure data is centralized, accessible, and actionable for use across all Crain brands
Help sales leaders analyze business data and generate insights to maximize revenue opportunities.
Monitor and analyze information and data systems and evaluate their performance to discover ways of enhancing them (new technologies, upgrades, etc.)
Support others in the daily use of data systems and ensure adherence to legal and company standards.
Establish rules and procedures for data sharing with upper management, individual departments/brands, external stakeholders, etc.
Devise and implement efficient and secure procedures for data handling and analysis with attention to all technical aspects
Assess system performance and make recommendations for software, hardware, and data storage improvements.
Assist with recognizing and upholding digital security systems to protect delicate information.
5+ years of experience working in data management or analysis.
Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
Experience with data visualization tools, data warehouses, customer data platforms and data integration tools.
Experience in media or subscription business preferred.
